You Don't Need To Sacrifice Quality To Save On Vending.

Two factors that can prevent a business seeking a better deal for their vending needs are concerns regarding quality and service. Companies believe that to begin saving money by finding a new vending supplier, they will have to sacrifice service levels and suffer a reduction in the quality of their drinks.

Fortunately if they choose the right supplier their concerns are unfounded. Most vending companies supply the same goods especially with regard vending ingredients. We all buy Nescafe Gold Blend from Nescafe whilst similarly Cadburys Drinking Chocolate is purchased from Cadburys. It is what it says on the box. Pack sizes are always the same. So all you, the customer, have to be concerned with is the price. Exactly the same as buying a Samsung LCD T.V.- Pay £250 from a high street retailer or the exact same model from Amazon for £199.

A further example can be found with Incup drinks which are pre-packed ingredients in the cup. They are used in an incup vending machine, with a hot tap on a water machine or simply hot water added from a boiler or kettle. There are numerous manufacturers. Standards can vary, but the quality is extremely high of those that are branded. The reason being that drinks are packed under license which are issued by the various brands and as such are strictly regulated. If the drink is supposed to have 1.3 grams of coffee in it then the packer must adhere to this or risk loosing the right to use branding on his packaging. Take the incup drinks supplied by Pioneer Vending, in addition to ensuring that licenses are held as described, they are also packed in conditions approved by the BRC to Grade A Food Standard (Supermarket Quality). Why pay £35 or £50 a case when you can enjoy the same product for £25?

Of course service is one thing that can't always be guaranteed. In my own business, Pioneer Vending, we are committed to offering the best service possible. I realised many years ago that you may not necessarily retain customers through giving them excellent service, but one thing is for sure, you will definitely loose them if your service levels are poor. Amazingly not all companies seem concerned with this. Personally I loose sleep if I feel we haven't delivered on service because I know that we may have jeopardised the ongoing business relationship with that customer. We are agressive in our ambition to gain new clients but even more so in ensuring that we keep them. We have some customers that have been with us since Pioneer Vending started over 20 years ago, let's face it they wouldn't be if it wasn't for exceptional service and value for money.

The biggest Overhead You Could Cut Is Right Under Your Nose!

Yes, that's right, it's the cup of coffee that you're drinking from the vending machine. How much is it costing your business? If you're not sure then have a look at your current vending suppliers last invoice. Make sure you're sitting down because after reading this you may be in for a shock!

We receive enquires from businesses large and small every day. I find it incredible the amount of money companies are wasting on their vending supplies. These days people and businesses switch suppliers to ones that offer the greatest value for money. Gas, Electricity and Telecoms are prime examples of these. The same applies to vending; you can obtain the same product for less. This is probably more important now in the current economic climate than at any other time in your business life

Many businesses now operate their own vending machines. It's cost effective. You purchase or lease a vending machine, fill with products purchased from a vending company, set the vend price and either make a small profit or break even. Many companies choose to offer their employees free drinks for reasons discussed in a previous article.

We specialise in providing incup drinks. Where the dried ingredient is pre-packed in the cup. Hot water is added to make the drink. A recent enquiry we received revealed that the customer wished to purchase some incup Cappuccino. The brand was identical to the one we supply. His supplier was charging £112.00 per case, our price was £31.50! We saved that customer a little over £80.00 per case.

He still buys from us, usually amongst the monthly order for other products such as Tea and Coffee is 5 or 6 cases of incup cappuccino. Putting the other products to one side, which he is also saving huge amounts on, his business is better off by almost £5K per year just on cappuccino purchases! The point being that it was only because of the recession that he actually took the time to see how much he was paying.

There are numerous examples. The purchase of vending machines is a prime one. Essentially they are all doing the same job, which is to issue a hot drink. So why feel the need to buy one for £4k when you can get one with the same or better specification for less than half that price.

An important point that seems to escape most businesses is that almost all vending companies are supplying the exact same brands. If you have a vending machine in your business why not pull out a few invoices from your current supplier? Find the brand of coffee you use to fill your machine and compare the price with Pioneer Vending to see how much you could be saving. Make sure you're sitting down!

Every Small Business should have a Small Vending Machine.

No matter what size your business, a vending machine is a necessity. Larger companies have always known this, but smaller businesses seem to be missing out on the opportunity to not only save money, but also increase productivity.

Most small firms understand that having a vending machine can eliminate the time wasted whilst their employees gather around for a chat waiting for the kettle to boil, wash cups and mugs or disappear to the shops to replenish supplies of milk which usually gone off. They also realise that the mess created by the relatively simple task of making coffee or tea, spilled milk and sugar etc, is at best an eyesore.

The misconception held by some is that vending is for the "big boys" and unaffordable. It's not. You don't need a huge free standing machine seen in sports centres and the like, small inexpensive tabletop vending machines are available to buy or rent. These machines use incup drinks which, as the name suggests, are pre-packed in the cup (exact cost control) and foil wrapped in sleeves. Simply remove foil wrapper and slot the sleeve of drinks into the corresponding selection in the vending machine. There is virtually no cleaning required. No loose ingredients to spill, no canisters or bowls to clean.

More importantly you do this yourself. No management fee to a vending company for cleaning and filling. You decide on the price that you wish to vend drinks for, make a profit or break even. Some businesses don't even charge for drinks. Why? Because they know that valuable time is no longer being wasted, staff can go to the machine, quickly obtain a drink and get back to what they're actually being paid for. Of course employees also like the machine because now they have a choice. Instead of just coffee or tea they can now also enjoy chocolate, soup, cappuccino, latte etc.

Let's not forget the all important customers who may be visiting you or perhaps buying from your trade counter. Offer them a free, quality drink of their choice. They'll appreciate it and you can get on with building a relationship with them and ultimately selling your good and services.

Soaring Figures for Pioneer Vending

In a report released from Pioneer Vending, sales figures are at an all time high despite the current economic slow down.

Pioneer Vending are on average adding twenty new customers per month and sales are 21% up in a year on year report. This is exceptional considering the latest figures showing how many businesses may go bankrupt during this recession.

"Over the Moon" said business owner John Harper, when asked how he feels about this latest report, "I didn't expect sales figures to be up given the current financial circumstances".

In October 2007, John decided to create a website to sell his products. He has had continual success and growth with the website coupled with existing marketing techniques. Many new clients are saving up to 30% in costs compared with their current supplier.
